Join us for the thirteenth edition of Leeds' Girl Geeks, presented by Linda Broughton, Imran Ali & Monica Tailor - one of a number of year-round LSx events.
On Thursday 4th October, we'll be joining the build up to Ada Lovelace Day; founded in 2009 by Suw Charman-Anderson as an international day celebrating the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and maths. ALD brings together people from around the world to talk about the women who inspire them.
suw charman-anderson // @suw is a social technologist, journalist and writer who got fed up the tech industry’s continual excuses regarding the lack of women speakers at conferences and decided to do something about it.
Suw’s first FindingAda.com blog post which explains where the idea for ALD came from. You can also find out more about Suw on her professional blog, Strange Attractor, and her personal blog, Chocolate and Vodka. She is @Suw on Twitter.
Also, the first 25 attendees to register will get a free DVD of talks from previous Leeds Girl Geek speakers!
We'll be returning to Old Broadcasting House as well as providing some drinks and nibbles.
