{ an evening with… ben hammersley
As part of the Leeds Digital Festival, LSx hosted a talk from Ben Hammersley - Editor-at-Large for Wired UK and the Prime Minister's Ambassador to Tech City.
When he's not running marathons in the Sahara desert, Ben is a writer, broadcaster and journalist. He reports on the effects of the internet on society, foreign policy, business, and culture ...not just on his blog either; his writing has appeared in proper dead-tree publications like The Times, The Guardian, and Wired UK (where he is Editor at Large). His latest publication is entitled '64 Things You Need to Know Now for Then: How to Face the Digital Future without Fear'.
Ben is no stranger to Leeds, speaking about Digital Disruption at last year's Digital Festival and on Mindfulness and Stillness in Digital Design, hosted by D&AD North during the summer. In this latest talk – The Flower, The Field, And The Stack – Ben explores the interconnectedness of all things, and finding compassion in TCP/IP.
Great thanks to Leeds Metropolitan University and QU2 for hosting this event at The Rose Bowl.
